The Dandenong Ranges Open Studios program has been presented by Burrinja for 21 years. This iconic cultural event started as a little idea to share the incredible creativity of the Hills with the wider community and has grown into an annual must-see experience with over 8000 visits each year.
The open weekend is held in autumn each year, showcasing the picturesque landscape of the Dandenong Ranges in full autumnal bloom. There is nothing dreamier than driving through the rolling hills and steeply weathered gullies, surrounded by thick temperate rainforest. As you cruise through the tall mountain ash trees, dense ferny undergrowth and quaint mountainside villages, your journey offers you a unique glimpse into the inner sanctum of some of the regions most talented artists.
The 2024 program saw 44 studios participating, featuring 68 artists and 7 collectives, as well as 12 studios brand new to the Open Studios experience. There were over 50 workshops, demonstrations and events to inspire the public and two weekends for the very first time.
Exploring the group exhibition GLIMPSE at Burrinja gave visitors a taste of what each studio had to offer before planning their journeys through the studios.
