Melchior is a painter of his surroundings; landscapes, skyscapes, built and occupied environments. His creative process often starts and ends in the field, in the practice of en plein air painting. However, he also works in his studio on larger pieces that are extended meditations on his experiences gained painting outdoors.

Set amongst the tall dark trees of the Dandenong Ranges, an explosion of colour greets the visitor with a delicious array of products that will captivate the senses. Gift cards, fabric, and very large scale dynamic paintings adorn the walls. The studio is bright, and welcoming and allows the visitor time to absorb the creative processes that are on display.
