Jenny Rowe - Ceramic Sculptor

Curiosity about form, structure and acquired meaning keeps Jenny exploring old and new ideas. Her sculptures explore the relationship between the environment and what emerges from the subconscious to tell a story or mark what is dear to us.

Stacks of clay, works begun, finished or abandoned. Tools, nests, bones, inspiration. A little world of exploration gathered together from the wider world.

From the Artist

What inspires me is how things 'work'. The alchemy of design, material, observation and happenstance. I love the beginning of a piece, laying down the foundations and then refining the form. Working intuitively on balance and proportion until it's time to stand back and assess. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's a struggle!
